Anthony “Tony” Davis

MADISON – Anthony “Tony” Davis , 69, of Madison was a beloved father, brother, grandfather and friend who passed away peacefully May 2, 2024. He was born in Skowhegan on Nov. 21, 1954, one of six children raised by the late Ethelyn Davis and Wilbur Davis.

Though his passing has left a void, he has blessed us with memories that will last a lifetime, and the gift of unconditional love.

He is survived by his two daughters and their children; five siblings and their spouses; two lifelong best friends. Celeste Davis and her son Landon of Skowhegan, Kerrie Davis and her daughter Taylor Tingley of Madison, his brother Arthur W. McManus and his wife Laura of East Madison, Carol A. Locke and her husband Linwood of Smithfield, Gary L. Davis and his wife Janice of Solon, SueAnn McDonald of Madison and Terry A. Davis of Embden, his two pals, Darrell Coro and Michael Desanctis; and many nieces and nephews and friends.

Tony enjoyed and wore his pride as a Madison Bulldog football player throughout his high school career, which only grew more sentimental to him as he transitioned into coaching his home little league football team during adulthood. Besides football, Tony was an active member of Crossroads Bible Church, where he devoted and volunteered his time mowing their lawn and tending to the grounds. He also enjoyed the entertainment and company of his kitty, “Squeaky” and watching his favorite old westerns and watching the Boston Celtics and the Boston Red Sox and other favorites.

Rain or shine Tony wore a smile with honor and always looked forward to cracking a joke with anyone he crossed paths with. His love will forever be among those he loved.

The family will be holding a celebration of life at 12:30 p.m. June 8, at Crossroads Bible Church in Madison, Maine. May he rest in peace.
