BETHEL — Kylee Furbush’s all-around excellence led the way for the Madison softball team in a 12-2 five-inning win over Telstar on Monday.
Furbush pitched all five innings for Madison, striking out 10 and allowing only two hits. She also went 2 for 4 at the plate, driving in two runs and scoring three.
Mackenzie Robbins also had two hits, two RBIs and three runs for the Bulldogs (6-7), and Ella Haynie doubled and drove in two runs.
Karen Marshall doubled and drove in both of Telstar’s (2-9) runs in the fourth inning. Maylyn Hastings had the Rebels’ other hit.
EDWARD LITTLE 11, CONY 1: Kassidy Lobb pitched a three-hitter and had three hits of her own in the Red Eddies’ (7-6) five-inning win in Augusta.
Lobb hit two doubles and a single and drove in four runs. Alexis Kelsea collected three singles, two runs and an RBI and Kylee Lebrun and Tiana Avila each had two hits and two RBIs. Lobb struck out eight batters in the circle.
Alivia St. Peter drove in the lone run for Cony (6-7) with a double.
DIRIGO 18, MOUNT. VIEW 11: Lana Waite had a triple among her three hits as the Cougars (8-2) took a high-scoring contest in Dixfield.
Emily Woods and Abby Luczynski each hit a double and a single, and Aleiah Ward also doubled. Waite and Ward combined to pitch a three-hitter, with Waite striking out seven in four innings and Ward punching out three in three frames.
Jazlynn Totman pitched all six innings for Mt. View (2-11).
BASEBALL
TELSTAR 5, MADISON 4: Connor Deprey’s walk-off hit gave the Rebels (4-8) a thrilling win in Bethel.
Matthew Haley’s RBI single in the top of the seventh put Madison up 4-3. In Telstar’s half of the inning, Deprey ended the game with a two-out, two-run double.
Wyatt Lily led the Rebels with three hits, while Brody Walker drove in three runs.
Walker also pitched a complete game, including an immaculate inning in the top of the second when he struck out the side on nine pitches. He finished with nine strikeouts.
Madison’s (2-10) Xavier Estes and Brayden Furbush each tallied two hits. Griffin Dickey pitched all 5 2/3 innings and struck out 10 batters.
EDWARD LITTLE 6, CONY 5: The Red Eddies scored two runs in the top of the seventh to earn their fourth win in five games in Augusta.
Breccan Albert scored the game-winning run for Edward Little (6-7). He scored twice, as did Eli St. Laurent and TJ Kramarz. Elliott Hill, who had a game-high two hits, St. Laurent and Albert each hit doubles.
Owen Scott pitched a complete game to earn the win. He struck out eight and allowed only four hits and two earned runs.
Parker Morin tripled for Cony (8-4). Max Tibbetts pitched the final four innings and struck out seven.
LISBON 8, WINTHROP 1: Cody Osmond had two hits, including a double, drew two walks and scored two runs to help pace the Greyhounds (9-5) in Lisbon.
Keeghan Morrissette also doubled for Lisbon and Brayden Decato had two hits. Jimmy Fitzsimmons scattered four hits and three walks in 6 2/3 innings while striking out eight. Lincoln Matthews came on in relief and struck out the final batter of the game.
Brady Shuman singled in Trent Collin for Winthrop’s lone run. Collin took the loss on the mound for the Ramblers (6-7) but struck out five in three innings.
MONMOUTH ACADEMY 11, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 1: Rory Foyt hit a pair of two-run singles for the Mustangs (11-1) in a five-inning win in Monmouth.
Foyt also stole two bases. Lucas Harmon added three hits, including a triple, and Tyler Johnson drove in two runs. Monmouth pitcher Jacob Harmon allowed three hits, one walk and one run while striking out three in four innings. Levi Laverdiere struck out a batter in a hitless inning of relief.
Max Labonte drove in Griffin Achorn for Spruce Mountain’s run in the top of the first. Kolby Cotton hit a double for the Phoenix (2-11).
OAK HILL 2, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 0: Landon Bangs pitched a one-hitter and also drove in a run as the Raiders (10-3) earned the shutout in Wales.
Trent Drouin hit a pair of singles for Oak Hill. Logan Langlois also had a hit and scored a run. Bangs struck out five batters and walked one.
Josh Pollis spoiled Bangs’ no-hit attempt with a single. Bradley Sirois gave up four hits and four walks while striking out seven in five innings for Mountain Valley (4-7). Tyler Warren worked around a walk in a scoreless inning of relief.
