
Garvin Desjardin
AUGUSTA – Garvin Desjardin, 86, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 17, 2024. He was wrapped in love, surrounded by his family at the Glenridge Nursing home.
The love for his family went without saying. Spending time and cooking for them whether at “Camp” or in the backyard will be a memory that will never be forgotten. He loved having his family nearby.
Garvin had been employed by the Kennebec Journal for many years, retiring as a supervisor.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gloria of Augusta; his daughter Audrey Logan and her husband Bud “Charles” of Sidney, daughter April Canwell and her husband Brian(t) of Mt. Vernon, son Allan Desjardin and his wife Tammy of Gorham and daughter Amy Thibodeau and her husband Larry of Hilton Head, SC; brother Bobby Desjardin and his wife Nancy of Randolph; eight grandchildren, Zachary Logan, Christopher Logan, Lyndsay Canwell, James Canwell, Brandon Desjardin, Brittany Desjardin, Samual Thibodeau and Lucas Thibodeau; as well as five great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Alzheimer Care Center in Gardiner and the Glenridge Nursing Home in Augusta for taking such good care of Dad. It is greatly appreciated.
There will be no public visiting hours or funeral services.
Arrangements are under the care of Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta.
