SKOWHEGAN — Walmart Supercenter, 60 Fairgrounds Market Place, recently celebrated the completion of its newly transformed supercenter store.
On May 17, Walmart associates held a ribbon-cutting ceremony, community celebration, recognition of store associates, vendor samples from other vendors, a community-inspired mural and more. The store’s longest-employed associate, Larry Lowe, a 29-year employee, cut the ribbon.
Store manager Tara Cody highlighted the store’s transformations, including an optimized grocery department; expansion and relocation of online grocery pickup and delivery; new signage throughout the supercenter; refreshed pharmacy; new restrooms and mother’s room; new pet department and more, according to a press release.
The store’s new mural installation includes references to the Skowhegan State Fair. It is part of Walmart’s Community Mural Program.
