LEWISTON – Myong “Sumi” Brunelle, 80, passed away on May 24, 2024 at Woodlands Memory Care of Lewiston.

Sumi was born in Seoul, South Korea on June 1, 1943. As a young woman, she traveled to the United States and became a U.S. Citizen in 1972. From 1972 to 1996 she was married to Robert David Ballard. Sumi spent her working years employed at various jobs in the retail industry and retired from Goodwill Industries. She enjoyed gardening and was a communicant of St. Michael’s Parish.

She was later married to Arthur Brunelle and the two lived in Augusta. He passed away in 2022.

Sumi is survived by her two sons, Michael Ballard of Auburn and Donald Ballard of Blairsville, Ga., as well as her stepchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 3, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Holy Family Cemetery on Townsend Road in Augusta.
