Kennebec Land Trust staff plan to celebrate the summer solstice with a guided paddle up Hopkins Stream to the Ezra Smith Wildlife Conservation Area in Mount Vernon at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 20.

Participants will meet at the Taylor Pond Public Boat Ramp, paddle approximately two miles upstream and then return.

The extensive undeveloped uplands and wetlands along the Hopkins Stream corridor provide important wildlife habitat for ducks and wading birds, according to a news release from the land trust.
