FARMINGDALE — Karlie Reith of Dresden, a senior at Hall-Dale High School, has received the 2024 Principal’s Award.
Principal Mark Tinkham stated in a news release that “Karlie has been a standout in the classroom, on the pitch, on the track, and on the stage. More impressively, Karlie is one of those students who seems to excel in everything that she takes part in. She helped lead the soccer team to an MVC Championship her junior year, set the school record in the pole vault, and is an All State saxophonist. She played the National Anthem on the saxophone at the Regional Basketball title game as well as numerous home events.”
Reith plans to study medicine at the University of Vermont.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
