The Kennebec Historical Society and members of the Augusta Symphony Orchestra plan to present “Classical Music in Augusta” at 3 p..m. Sunday, June 30, at the Unitarian Universalist Community Church, 69 Winthrop St., in Augusta.
The public is invited to join members of the orchestra and the Kennebec Historical Society (KHS) for an afternoon of 18th and 19th century classical chamber music woven together with historical fantasy. There will be several musical selections played connected loosely to local Augusta history.
Following the performance, there will be a reception with light food and drinks. Both the concert and reception are free with donations gladly accepted.
For more information call Scott Wood, KHS executive director at 207-622-7718.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
