Edith Ellen Alexander

LEWISTON – Edith Ellen Alexander, 90, a resident of Monmouth, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. She was born Dec. 15, 1933, in Freeport, the daughter of Grant Osman Tapley and Helen (Prescott) Tapley. She attended school in Monmouth.

She devoted herself to her family, home and church. She was also a gifted florist. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Stephens of Belgrade, Gayle Rice and husband Steven of Monmouth, and Jean Baker of Leeds, her stepson, Steven Alexander and wife Joan of Bath, her brother, Frank Tapley of Livermore Falls, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, SSGT Graham F. Baker, her second husband, Alan Alexander and her daughter, Barbara Chase.
