The Kennebec Valley Community Action Program’s 10th annual Tee-off for Transportation Mark K. Johnston Memorial Golf Tournament took place June 21 at Lakewood Golf Course in Madison.
The event raised $27,000 to support public transportation in Augusta, Waterville, Fairfield, Winslow and Skowhegan.
E.W. Littlefield and Healey & Associates served as Platinum sponsors, and Wipfli LLP was the lunch sponsor. Ball sponsors included GoNetspeed, Truenterprises and Health Plans Inc. USI Insurance Services, Hight Family of Dealerships, and Taylor, McCormack & Frame LLC sponsored the swag bags and Clark Insurance sponsored the Hole-in-One prize.
The first place gross winning team was Wipfli, and team DOBA earned second place. C&C Realty Management received first place for net score, and Healey & Associates took second place net. Peter Webster, Jim Wilbur, David Pelton and Jacques Chabot scored closest to the pin on one of four holes, and the longest drive winners were Danielle Martin and Denny Martin.
This event continues to be held in memory of Johnston, KVCAP’s chief financial officer for more than 20 years and a supporter of Community Action, helping people and changing lives. Johnston died in 2018.
