
Margaret M. Daigle
MADISON – Margaret M. Daigle, 73, passed away on June 27, 2024, in Madison. Born on Jan. 24,1951, in Skowhegan, Margaret lived a life marked by her warm heart, her profound love and dedication to family and friends, and her enduring sense of humor which endeared her to all.
Margaret graduated from Madison Memorial High School in 1969. Margaret’s journey through her career in the shoe making business spanned an impressive 55 years, culminating in her upcoming 43rd anniversary at New Balance in October. She held several titles over the years at New Balance and proudly earned the top honorary title of “Shoe Dog,” a testament to her significant impact and leadership within the company. She impacted everyone’s success in all five of the New Balance factories between Maine and Massachusetts with an incredible balance of love, empathy and accountability. She was a critical brick in the foundation of the NB Made manufacturing organization. She was especially committed to the growth and success of New Balance associates and was revered by all. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Margaret was also an active member of the community, serving as an auxiliary member of the American Legion Tardiff-Belanger Post 39 in Madison.
Margaret’s zest for life was no secret. She was always thoughtful and caring, never missing a family event, from birthdays to gatherings at Santa’s Village. She was always present. Her life was marked by her deep love for her family and friends. Known for her meticulous attention to detail, she served as the family historian, preserving cherished memories and stories. She was a master chef, a crafty creator, a melodic music lover, a voracious reader, and a traveler who always found her way back home to the hearts of her family and friends. Her favorite times were those spent with loved ones.
She is survived by sisters, Susan Price and her husband Harold, and Michelle Farnsworth and her husband Luther, her brother Michael Daigle and his wife Allison and her “adopted” brother Philip Daigle and his wife Cindy; nieces and nephews, Stephanie and Tony LeBlanc, Stephen Friend, Timothy and Stacey Farnsworth, Laura and Travis Pyland, Justin Daigle, Faith Daigle, Danyel and Jim Clark, Karl Price and Brandi and Joe Smith; great nieces, and nephews Lucas LeBlanc, Zachary LeBlanc, Isaac Friend, Oakley Friend, Alyssa Smith and Logan Smith; and great-great nieces and nephews Gianna Pyland, Julian and Milly Mai Comegy-LeBlanc, Tyler Farnsworth and Sophia Grace Smith. She walks on to join her late parents, Theresa A. (Bearor) Daigle and Harrison C. Daigle, her sister Carol Ann Daigle, and her great niece Elizabeth Clark.
The family will open visitation to friends and loved ones on Friday, July 5, 2024, from 4-7 p.m., at Giberson Funeral Home, located at 40 Maple Street, Madison. The following day, Saturday, July 6, at 11 a.m., Margaret will be laid to rest during a graveside service at St. Sebastian Cemetery on Father Rasle Road, Madison.
Margaret’s memory will continue to inspire and her legacy will be cherished by all who were fortunate to know and love her.
