Camden Shakespeare Festival  kicks off with “The Comedy of Error” presented beginning on Wednesday, July 10, in the Camden Amphitheatre.

Shakespeare’s hilarious farce about two sets of twins who end up in the same town, each unaware of the others. This show will have a lot of music, singing, clowning, and funny business. This play has it all: madcap comedy, mistaken identity, seduction, slapstick, bad puns, and a family reunion beyond belief.

“It is probably Shakespeare’s most fun show to perform, and least Shakespearean,” says director Stephen Legawiec.

The cast features local actors Megan Gerbi, Savannah Irish and R. Taylor Kruse. Guest artists are Téa Doherty, Steven Horn, Marcus, McGhee, Gina Prince, Anna Raymond, and Maggie Seymour. The stage manager is Rey Hankinson.

Performances will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, and July11-12, 16-19, 23-26, and 31 and Aug. 1-4. Two outdoor performances will also be given in Bath — weather permitting — at 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 20 and July 21, in Library Park located at 55 Summer St., Bath. Tickets for the Bath performances will be available at the door only.
