Mavis M. Doughten

SKOWHEGAN – Mavis M. Doughten, 93, of Skowhegan, passed away peacefully, on July 2, 2024, at Glenridge Nursing Home and Rehab, in Augusta.

She was born in Madison on Jan. 15, 1931. Her parents were Andrew Rollins and Marion (Perkins) Rollins.

She had two brothers, Arlington, and Stanley Rollins. She also had two sisters; Lillian Rollins Judd and Barbara Rollins Hartwell.

She attended school in Solon and Bingham.

During her lifetime, she lived in New Hampshire, Florida, Alaska and Maryland. Her last few years were spent in Skowhegan. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bel Air, Md. She previously worked in retail and environmental protection.

She was always an animal advocate. She could often be seen strolling in Skowhegan with a German Shepard on the leash.

She had various interests, although her favorite interest was dogs, particularly the German Shepard, which she had owned several, previously.

She leaves a daughter, Searrah Jacques and husband Eric; granddaughters Brittnay St.Peter and her husband Dillon, Michelle Jacques, grandsons, Jeremy Jacques, Talon Jacques and partner Crystal Cates and Peter Luzier; her great-grandchildren, Savannah Nicols, Nicholas Rogers, Jalynn Luzier, Silas and Aidan St.Peter, and Hannah, Ava and Landon Currie. She also leaves a sister, Barbara Hartwell and husband Howard, brother-in-law, Albert Judd and sister-in-law, Iona Rollins.

She was predeceased by her parents; and son, Luke Currie; and granddaughter, Kelly Currie. She was also predeceased by husbands Reginald Padham, Robert Currie and Franklin Doughten; along with her two brothers and sister.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 13 at 11 a.m., in Evergreen Cemetery, Solon.
