
Delores D. LeVecque
SOUTH PORTLAND – Delores D. LeVecque, 95, a longtime resident of Augusta, died Sunday, July 7, 2024 at the Pinnacle Health and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness. She was born in Ft. Kent on Sept. 12, 1928 a daughter of the late George and Emma (Austin) Dumond.
Mrs. LeVecque was a graduate of Ft. Kent High School and was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church for many years.
She was a homemaker for most of her life working for various businesses part time in the Augusta area. Delores enjoyed gardening and created beautiful flower gardens at her home on Granite Street. She passed that passion on to all her children who will think of her every time they plant a flower.
Mrs. LeVecque was predeceased by her husband, Paul A. LeVecque; a son, George LeVecque; five brothers, Finland, Roland, Claude, Lloyd and Dana Dumond, three sisters, Rowena Breau, Lauretta Babkirk and Joan Palmer, a granddaughter, Brooke Heuermann; and a son in-law, Brian Wade.
She is survived by three sons, Martin LeVecque (Lynn) of Billerica, Mass., John LeVecque (Judy) of Richmond and Peter LeVecque of Marietta, Ga., two daughters, Celeste Wade of Portland and Michelle Heuermann (David) of Clearwater, Fla.; a brother, Philip Dumond of Ft. Kent; seven grandchildren, Nicole (Steve), Jason, Melissa (Bill), Michael (Eileen), Travis (Brittany), Alex (Cassy) and Emma; and three precious great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Isabelle and Emmett; and many nieces, nephews; and cousins.
The family would like to thank Pinnacle Health and Rehab for their wonderful care and support of Delores at the end of her life.
At her request, there will be no public visiting hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 16 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Western Ave., Augusta. Burial and committal prayers will follow in the old Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Dr., Augusta.
