James E. Beane
MOSCOW – James E. Beane, 82, passed away on July 3, 2024 at Woodlands Memory Care in East Madison with family at his side.
Jim was born March 25, 1942, to William S. Beane and Alice M. Vigneault Beane.
Upon graduating from Bingham High School, Jim entered the working world, the majority of his career was spent working for MDOT, where started as a laborer and worked his way up to division supervisor. He took immense pride in his work ethic and loved nothing more than building and maintaining roads, always commenting on the condition of the roads, no matter where he went.
Jim was a lifetime member of the Skowhegan-Madison Elks Club and a longtime member of the New Portland Lions Club.
Upon retirement he enjoyed helping his daughter Joan and her husband with their lumberyard in Bingham, showing up every day to see what needed to be done. He liked seeing “things happen”.
He enjoyed his old cars and would spend hours waxing and making them shine. He also loved his woodworking shop and building various projects. Throughout his life he was an avid snowmobiler, enjoyed riding his ATV and going hunting and fishing with the guys. Some of his very best memories were made spending time at Heald Pond Camps with his best friend Wright Pinkham.
Jim was predeceased by his parents; but is survived by all his siblings, Carol Morrison of Milbridge, J. Donald Beane of Moscow, Albert Beane of North Carolina and Gary Beane of Smithfield; his children, Greg Beane and wife Sarah of Orono, Joan Marden and husband Erin of Bingham, and John Beane of Bingham; grandchildren Nicole Rodrigue, Brandan Beane, Chase Beane, Andrew Marden, Michaela Goomishian, Owen Beane and Ruby Beane; great-grandchildren Elizabeth, Benjamin, Eli, Jase, Theodore, Jake; and many special friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at Woodlands and especially, Andwell Hospice for their great care of Jim over the final stages of his life. They were truly a blessing.
A graveside service will be held on Friday July 19 at Union Cemetery in Moscow at 11 a.m. Directly following there will be a Celebration of Life at the Solon Hotel, from 12 to 2 p.m.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Giberson Funeral Home and Cremation Services. To leave a condolence for the family and to view the online obituary, please visit http://www.gibersonfuneralhome.com
