
Larry B. Cloutier
AUGUSTA – Larry B. Cloutier, 82, of Old Winthrop Road, placed his hand in the hand of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who led him to his heavenly home on Wednesday, July 3, 2024.
Larry was born in Gardiner on Jan. 23,1942 the son of the late George and Bernice (Swift) Cloutier. He was the youngest of three boys, Robert, David and Larry. He was raised in Gardiner, attended public schools and graduated from Gardiner High School in the class of 1961. While in high school he was an outstanding athlete, lettering in football, basketball, track and had 14 scholarships offered to him for his athletic success.
He married his high school sweetheart, Susan Martell of Augusta. They soon welcomed a son, David Lee Cloutier.Not long thereafter, they moved to Southern California to find their future.
Larry began his career with the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co. (purveyors of chewing gum) as a sales representative. During his career with Wrigley, he was promoted rapidly to Regional Manager in charge of all sales in California. From there, he was promoted to Area Manager in charge of California, Arizona, Utah and Nevada. He continued with Wrigley for 27 years until he left at the age of 51 to start his own company.
His new company, LBC Contract Mfg, dealt with the design and manufacturing of display racks. His most prominent clients were, Nike Corporation, Ikea Stores and all nationwide Frito Lay products.
Larry and Susan fell in love with the State of Hawaii, visiting countless times, eventually moving to the Island of Hawaii where they resided for 14 years. Larry retired at the age of 62 to pursue his lifelong hobby of golf.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Susan Cloutier of Augusta; a son, David Lee Cloutier and his wife Marlo of Pleasanton, Calif., a daughter, Devon Elizabeth Cordwell and her husband Darryl of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; grandson, John Fieweger of Las Vegas, Nev.; granddaughters Mallory Ringrose and Samantha Cloutier. Larry had many close friends over his lifetime and many who loved him. He will be missed by all.
