WATERVILLE — The Waterville Board of Education has unanimously voted in favor of Andrew Carlton, their nomination for the director of special education position for Waterville Public Schools.
Carlton’s career in Maine public education began as an educator in the special education program at MSAD 49, according to a news release from Waterville Public Schools. His administrative roles have included assistant principal, director of special education, assistant superintendent and superintendent of Regional School Union 4. For the last two years, Carlton has served as city manager in Gardiner. He lives in Shawmut, in Fairfield, with his family.
He will begin his new position on Sept. 9.
