Lucille T. Jean
AUGUSTA – Lucille T. Jean, 94, died Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care at Gray Birch following a long illness. She was born in Augusta on Jan. 9, 1930, a daughter of the late William E. and Marie Anne (Mailloux) Busque.
Mrs. Jean was a graduate of Cony High School and a communicant of St. Augustine Catholic Church.
She had been employed by the State of Maine Public Safety and previously worked for the Department of Motor Vehicles.
Mrs. Jean was a member of the Maine State Retirees Association, a former member of the Ladies of St. Anne Society, and Cushnoc Senior Citizens. She spent 16 winters at Betmar Acres in Zephyrhills, Fla. and belonged to the Hobby Club. She loved to play cards and ride her bike in the park. She also enjoyed spending her summers at her daughter’s cottage on Dam Pond.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care at Gray Birch for the kindness and compassion they showed to Lucille and the entire family during her time in their care.
She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Jean; daughter, Carol Hathaway and a son-in-law, Robert Cummings.
Mrs. Jean is survived by her son, Ronald E. Jean and wife Cathy of Groton, Conn., three daughters, Donna Cummings, Dolores Nicknair and husband Richard Jr. and Constance Lachance and husband Paul J., all of Augusta; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three step-grandsons; and several cousins.
Relatives and friends may visit on Sunday, July 14 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 15 at 11 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Northern Ave., Augusta. Burial and committal prayers will follow in Holy Family Cemetery, Townsend Rd., Augusta.
