WATERVILLE – Elizabeth “Liz” (McNally) Barnett was born on Dec. 9, 1944, and went to be with her Lord with her family by her side on Jun 30, 2024.
Liz was born in North Belfast, Ireland and moved to Massachusetts when she turned 18 to start a new life for herseff. Liz quickly fell in love with the USA and one of her proudest moments was becoming a US citizen. Liz met her future husband James “Jim” Barnett in her new home town of Quincy, Mass. Liz and Jim relocated to Maine where they got married and started a family.
Liz had a contagious laugh that could light up any room. Liz was a woman of faith and her love of our Lord was something she held dear to her heart. Liz’s pride and joy was her beautiful family that she and Jim created. They had three wonderful sons, James “Jay” John, Bryan Keith, and Sean Patrick. The three sons continued to grow the family: James and wife Tonia of Winslow, Bryan of Waterville and Sean and Dawn Marie Grimshaw of Waterville. Liz and Jim were blessed with several beautiful grandchildren, Justin James of Albion, Amanda Barnett and her husband Nicholas McCann of Waterville, Aiyassa Hallee of Illinois, Tiffany Bernatchez of Hinkley and Mariah and her husband Jed Crommett of Winslow; as well as two beautiful great grandaughters, Aria and Aubrey.
The family would like to say thank you to the wonderful people who helped care for Liz throughout her health journey. A special thank you to Tanya Logan, friend and caretaker, and the staff at Harold Atfond Center for Cancer Care.
In lieu of flowers,
donations to the:
Atfond Center for Cancer Care are appreciated
