
AUGUSTA – Janice Ruth Lovley, 78, passed away on July 3, 2024, at Glenridge Comfort Care facility in Augusta losing her battle with liver cancer. She was born May 1, 1946, in Gardiner to Alton R. Lovley and Ruth (Jones) Lovley.
Jan graduated from Gardiner High School in 1964. She then moved to Fort Myers, Fla. where she lived for many years and worked for the Lee County School District. Later she moved to Ashville, NC in the Smokey Mountains. She eventually came home to Maine to stay and worked as a caregiver. Jan had many hobbies and was always busy and always had a smile on her face and a giggle for everyone.
Jan is survived by her two brothers, Gary A. Lovley of Gardiner and Larry Lee Lovley of Manchester; nieces, nephews; great nieces, and great nephews; as well as many long-time good friends.
Per Jan’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. Her remains will be laid to rest in Oak Grove Cemetery in Gardiner, Maine.
