PORTLAND – Born on Sept. 16, 1940, to James McClay and Yvonne Mitchell. Cynthia Weiss died on June 15, 2024.
She was a hard worker at home on the farm in Rome as well as outside the home at a local hospital. Hobbies included sewing, singing, piano and baking. She enjoyed music and country dancing.
Cynthia is survived by her brothers James McClay III (Eleanor), Gary McClay, Alan Mitchell (Patty) all of Smithfield; son, Kirk Haskell (Nancy) of Palm Coast, Fla., daughters Johnna Haskell (John Freeman) of Carrabassett Valley and Christa Fairbanks (Mark) of Cumberland; grandsons Devin Burgess of Biddeford, Drew Burgess of Corpus Christi, Texas, Justin Fairbanks of Cumberland, granddaughters Leah and Sierra; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; first husband and father of her children, John Haskell, Jr. of Weirsdale, Fla.; and former sister-in-law, Livia Leah of Portland.
