
Robert Charles Diplock
AUGUSTA – Robert Charles Diplock, 90, beloved husband, brother, son and father, passed away peacefully July 19, 2024, at the Maine Veterans Home in Augusta. He was well known in Central Maine after having run a successful flooring business for over 50 years. Robert proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1953-57 as an Aviation Machinist’s Third Class where he received commendations for good conduct, the National Defense Service Ribbon and the China Service Medal. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, boating almost as much as he enjoyed socializing whenever the opportunity presented itself. He will be dearly missed by many.
Robert was predeceased by his first wife Joan (Damborg) Diplock, his second wife Regina (Fletcher) Diplock, his parents John and Virginia (Williams) Diplock, his brother George Diplock, brother-in-law Parker Worthing, his niece Jane Worthing and his son John Diplock. He is survived by his baby sister Marcia Worthing of Augusta, his sister-in-law Jane Diplock of Manchester, his sons David Diplock of Wilton, Peter Diplock of Gardiner, Thomas Diplock and his partner Angela Dyer of Readfield and Charles Diplock of Hallowell, his daughter Robyn Savoy and her partner Richard James of Augusta, his daughter-in-law Lindsay (Whalen) Diplock of Readfield, and numerous nephews, grand and great grandchildren, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 18, 2024 at 3 p.m., at the Augusta Country Club.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Maine Audubon Society at Maine Audubon Society, 20 Gilsland Farm Road, Falmouth, ME 04105.
