Douglas H. Conant

MORRISVILLE, Vt. – Douglas H. Conant, 84, of 577 Washington Highway, Morrisville went home to be with the Lord on July 11, 2024. He was born in Sumner, Maine on August 30, 1939, to the late Leon and Florence (Hadley) Conant. He attended Sumner and West Paris Schools. On August 27, 1965, he married Caroline Poland Conant. Douglas worked for The Maine Department of Transportation for over twenty-five years when he retired in 1993. He then started D&D Auto Sales selling used cars and attending countless vehicle auctions. 

Douglas liked to keep busy. He enjoyed puttering and tinkering around the garage, cutting wood, hunting, camping, biking, taking long walks and spending time with his family. Douglas loved his Dunkin Donuts coffee and loved taking his grandchildren for munchkins. 

In addition to his wife, Caroline, survivors include his son, Douglas Conant (partner Theresa Poulin) of Bangor, Maine, daughter Deb (Scott) Verzilli, of Morrisville, VT grandchildren, Bradley Conant, Katlyn (Kyle) Haskell, Payton Verzilli, Adriana Verzilli, and great grandchildren Autumn Conant, Harold Haskell, and Delilah Haskell and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.

A Memorial Service will be held on August 11, 2024, at 2 p.m., at Lakes Christian Fellowship, 744 Augusta Road, Belgrade, Maine.
