Joseph Russell Heath Jr.
PITTSTON – Joseph Russell Heath Jr., 66, of Pittson died unexpectedly at home after doing what he loved best, working in the woods, on Saturday, July 27, 2024.
Born in Gardiner, on May 1, 1958, the son of Joseph Russell Heath, Sr. and Maxine (Moulton) Heath. Joe grew up in Pittston, Maine. He attended Gardiner Area High School and played football. After graduating high school, he worked for William’s Construction, then served in the Navy for six years aboard the USS King. After returning home from his service he did some agricultural work and landscaping before taking an Electronic Technician position at BIW working there for 37 years.
Joe was predeceased by his parents; sister (Sylvia Heath); and grandparents.
Joe is survived by his wife Cheryl (Elcik) Heath, of Pittston; daughter, Amanda Heath, of Richmond, Va.; son, Joseph, his wife Elizabeth and their children Reanna and Blake Heath of Albion; sisters Joyce Cray and Heather Heath; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Joe’s visiting hours will be held from 1-3 p.m., on Saturday, Augusta 24, 2024, at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner.
