The Maine Department of Economic & Community Development is set to host the state’s premiere of two episodes filmed in Maine of the television series “America’s Forests” with Chuck Leavell from 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27.
The episodes will be shown at Husson University, 180 College Circle in Bangor.
The episodes, focusing on sustainability and innovation in the forest products and tourism industries, were filmed in 2023, with funding from the Maine Office of Tourism, The Nature Conservancy, L.L.Bean, TimberHP, Northeastern Lumber Manufacturers Association, Stihl, and the University of Maine.
The episodes covering a range of topics including an experience with a Wabanaki guide and visitation to vital conservation organizations.
The episodes feature organizations and other entities that celebrate stewardship of Maine’s forests and lands, including The Wabanaki People, TimberHP, Robbins Lumber, Hancock Lumber, Appalachian Mountain Club, North Maine Woods and the University of Maine.
