Tickets are available at Skidompha Library in Damariscotta, which is also where the quilt is on display. The deadline to purchase tickets is 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, according to a news release from Marianne Pinkham with the Damariscotta Mill Fish Ladder Restoration Project.
This is the fifth quilt that Betty Lu Brydges has created and donated to the Fish Ladder Restoration. All proceeds from the raffle support the ongoing maintenance of the 69 gradually ascending fish pools, and the walkways that allow visitors to view the pools and the alewives.
The pools have been rebuilt over the past 20 years, but improvements are necessary.
The Damariscotta Mills Fish Ladder Restoration Project is a community-based effort in collaboration with the towns of Nobleboro, Newcastle and the Nobleboro Historical Society.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
For those stories that we do enable discussion, our system may hold up comments pending the approval of a moderator for several reasons, including possible violation of our guidelines. As the Maine Trust’s digital team reviews these comments, we ask for patience.
Comments are managed by our staff during regular business hours Monday through Friday and limited hours on Saturday and Sunday. Comments held for moderation outside of those hours may take longer to approve.
