J. Richard Henry

MOBILE, Ala. – J. Richard Henry, born June 30, and a native of Livermore Falls, Maine and a longtime resident of Mobile, Ala., passed away on August 7, 2024. He was 79 years old.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Fidele Henry and Candide Louise (Philippon) Henry; his brother-in-law, Gerald Bosse; and his nephew, Stephen Bosse. He is survived by his wife, Paula Gallagher Henry; his four children, Allison Ahmadi of Mobile, Ala., Lance (Jennifer) Havard of Mobile, Ala., Ashley (Roy) Williams of Lucedale, Miss., and Anna (Brett) De Jong of Collierville, Tenn.; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Anita Bosse of St. Helens, Ore., and June (Tony) Grippo of Lake Ronkonkoma, NY; two nieces and two nephews.

Richard graduated Livermore Falls High School in the class of 1963. He continued his studies in Boston, Mass. at Wentworth Institute of Technology, graduating with a degree in Mechanical Power Engineering in 1965. Richard worked 46 years in the Power Generation industry, International Paper for 39 years, Packaging Corporation of America for three years, and as a private consultant for four years.

A Memorial Mass and Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, August 19, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1400 Joyce Road, Mobile, Ala. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. with Mass following at 10:30 a.m. A Celebration of Life Reception will be held at the conclusion of Mass in the Church Hall.
