MADISON — American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 39 is collecting school supplies for students in School Administrative District 59 and Regional School Unit 74 until September.
Suggested items include rulers, No. 2 pencils, colored pencils, backpacks, sticky notes, ink pens (black, blue and red), crayons, glue sticks, markers, water bottles (no larger than 20 ounces), pouches for binders, erasers, one subject notebook, binders (1″ to 3″), college and standard ruled filler paper, index cards, hand sanitizer, highlighters and sharpeners.
There will be multiple collection boxes available. A box will be onsite during Bingo between noon and 4:30 p.m. Sundays at the Somerset Abby, 98 Main St.; at a large booth near Skowhegan Savings Bank on Main Street; and one will be available between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. during Madison/Anson Days; or contact any Auxiliary member.
Monetary donations to fill in the gaps also are acceptable.
