Charlynn Frye Waller

NORTH CAROLINA – Charlynn Frye Waller, 82, of Hendersonville, N.C., peacefully passed away on July 30, 2024, at Four Seasons Hospice, with her husband, son and daughter in law at her side.

Charlynn was born in Washington, Indiana, on May 19, 1942, to Charles and Mary Ellen Frye, one of three girls her dad called “Charlie’s Angels”.

She married Phillip Waller on Nov. 27, 1964, and raised their two children, John and Julie in Kents Hill, Maine, before moving to North Carolina. She spent many years teaching children of all ages and had a passion for helping others. She loved to garden, shop (every visit to Maine included trips to TJ Maxx), and spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren (who all lovingly called her “Grammy Char”), and her pets. She had a joyous laugh and loved to make others laugh, even at her own expense. She spent time volunteering with hospice services and often talked about how rewarding that was. She was happiest when she was giving to others. She was a member of Mills River United Methodist Church in Hendersonville.

She was predeceased by her parents. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 59 years and nine months, Phillip Waller, her son, John (Cindy) Waller, daughter Julie Waller, of Augusta, granddaughters, Christine (Ryan) Booker of Augusta and Ally Waller of Lynchburg, Virginia, great grandchildren, Emmalyn and Landon Booker, sisters Marsha Wonder and Nancye Maselow and many wonderful friends and extended family members from Indiana, Maine and North Carolina.

A celebration of her life will be held at Kennebec Valley Assembly of God in Chelsea, Maine on Saturday, Aug. 24, at 11 a.m.

Contributions in her memory may be made to Four Seasons Hospice,
