Dana William Crocker

WEST GARDINER – Dana William Crocker, 57, of West Gardiner passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Aug. 14, 2024, at Maine Medical Center. Dana fought a long and courageous battle with heart disease.

Dana was born in Gardiner, on April 7, 1967. He graduated from Gardiner Area High School in the class of 1985. During his high school years, he was an avid golfer and ice hockey player. In 1987 he married his best friend Tammy (Child) Crocker and together they started their family that included their daughter, Alicia and their son, Casey. Dana started his career at Progressive Distributor’s followed by State Cable, Maine Drilling and Blasting and in 2007 he opened his own business “Customers Choice Landscaping”. In 2020 he combined his passion for landscaping and golf and became the grounds keeper at Meadows Golf Course.

He enjoyed snowmobiling, ice fishing, golfing, hunting, watching family members on the ice, playing fields and dance recitals. Dana found great joy in the simple things like family outings, watching his grandchildren grow up, and spending time with his dog Bogie and cats Lexi and Callie.

Dana was predeceased by his father, William Crocker. He is survived by his best friend, Tammy Crocker; a son, Casey Crocker and his wife Miranda and their two children, Blakely and Bennet; a daughter, Alicia Lizak and her two children, Cameron and Reece; his mother, Sheila Crocker; a sister, Vickie Crocker-Hebert and her three children, Tristan, Tanner and Gabrielle; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Dana’s strength and bravery will live on in those who loved him.

There will be a private graveside service. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life for Dana on Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 12-4 p.m., at the West Gardiner Rod and Gun Club, 171 Collins Mills Rd, W. Gardiner. Arrangements are under the direction of the Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner, Maine.
