Sage Paquette-Cohen

BERKELEY, Calif. – Sage lived and died on her own terms. She was fiercely passionate about many things and is deeply loved by a world of people that she connected with in her short life.

Sage grew up in Monmouth, Maine and graduated from Monmouth Academy in 2010. She loved traveling and lived in Israel, Germany, New Orleans, and the Bay Area after graduating from Boston’s Emerson College in 2014.

Sage spent her life trying to make other lives better. As a special educator, she strived to provide her students with the tools to succeed in life and she truly changed the lives of those young people.

She was passionate about music, culture, reading, her Jewish heritage, her family, her friends and being in nature. Sage’s sense of adventure was infectious. She loved exploring and being in new places. She had a strong sense of fairness and equity and fought for the lives of people she didn’t even know. Her dedication to social justice guided her every day. She was fierce in her values.

Sage is survived by her sister, Hope Paquette-Cohen of Falmouth Maine; her parents, Chuck Cohen and Mary Beth Paquette of Monmouth; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

May Sage’s memory be for an eternal blessing.
