OAKLAND – Laura J. Ricker, 79, passed away on August 2, 2024, after a long illness. Laura was born in Waterville on June 6, 1945, to James and Phyllis Parker. Laura graduated from Lawrence High School.

She went to work for C.F. Hathaway Shirt Company where she worked for over 40 years, becoming Plant Manager. While at C.F. Hathaway, Laura met a fellow employee, Larry Ricker, who became her beloved husband of over 40 years. After C.F. Hathaway, Laura went to work for Maine General Medical Center.

Laura is survived by her daughter Doreen Beane and son-in-law Lescar; grandchildren Steven Tozier Jr., Emily LaVerdiere, and Sophia Beane; her sister and brother-in-law Don and Marie Erskine, brother and sister-and-law Joe and Joanne Parker, and her brother Robert Parker; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

In her younger years she enjoyed helping out those in need. She will be deeply missed. We remember Laura’s quick wit and for this she will be deeply missed.

Burial will take place Thursday, August 29 in Tozier Cemetery, Green Rd., Fairfield at 2 p.m.
