Paul J. Cloutier

AUGUSTA – Paul J. Cloutier, 90, died Saturday, August 24, 2024, at the Maine Veterans Home in Augusta following a brief illness. He was born in Augusta on July 1, 1934, a son of the late Odilon T. and Emma M. (Roy) Cloutier.

Mr. Cloutier attended Augusta schools and was a communicant of St. Augustine Catholic Church.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War.

Mr. Cloutier had been employed by General Services Administration for many years and then went to work for Kennebec Valley Medical Center in Augusta.

He was a member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and a member and the of Le Club Calumet.

Mr. Cloutier was predeceased by his wife, Jeannette (Theriault) Cloutier; a son, Raymond Cloutier; and his brother, Martin Cloutier and Martin’s wife, Lucille.

He is survived by two daughters, Anita Hunt (David) of Augusta and Claire Bell (Jeff) of Augusta, a son, Donald Cloutier of Augusta; grandchildren, Ian Hunt (Jess), Andrew Hunt (Valerie), Allison Hunt and Sabrina Bell; great grandchildren, Hailey and Bryson Hunt; one niece, Michelle Cloutier; and cousins. Also a special friend, Peggy and many friends who meant so much to him.

At his request, there will be no public visiting hours. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, Sept. 6 at 10 a.m. at the old Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Dr., Augusta.

Arrangements are under the care of Plummer’s Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta.
