The Augusta Symphony Orchestra plans to present its spring concert at 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, at the Cony High School Auditorium, 60 Pierce Drive in Augusta.

The concert will begin with Ludwig van Beethoven’s King Stephen Overture, followed by Peer Gynt Suite No. 1 by Edvard Grieg. Following intermission, the orchestra will perform Beethoven’s Symphony No 8.
The orchestra serves as an educational and charitable organization through which amateur and semi-professional musicians have opportunities to perform great music and provide a public service by presenting free concerts in the greater Augusta area. Now in its 103rd season, the symphony is under the guidance of Music Director and Conductor Jinwook Park. An accomplished violinist, Mr. Park teaches at Colby College as well as directing the Colby College Symphony.
Donations are welcomed.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
