Binnie Media’s Golden Apple Awards were created to recognize individuals dedicated to the intellectual and emotional growth of Maine’s children and young adults.
Binnie Media, based in Westbrook, has now recognized over 210 education professionals in Maine, and it is looking for nominations.
If someone has impacted one’s life or made a difference in one’s child’s life in a positive way, here’s a chance to give them the recognition they deserve, according to a news release from Binnie Media.
Each month, a school employee (teacher, administrator, food service worker, educational technician, custodian, etc.) will receive The Golden Apple Award. Along with this recognition, they’ll receive a slew of prizes including a bouquet of flowers from Anne’s Flower Shop in Auburn, a gift certificate for dinner at The Muddy Rudder in Yarmouth, plus a limousine ride to and from school courtesy of Atlantic Limousine, and a $100 Staples Gift Card.
Listeners can nominate an education professional or a school employee for free through Binnie Media radio station websites and share stories of education professionals who have impacted the lives of others. Those include 999thewolf.com, 1063thebone.com, 1075frank.com, 1055thewolf.com, 1069frank.com and 993thewavemaine.com.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
For those stories that we do enable discussion, our system may hold up comments pending the approval of a moderator for several reasons, including possible violation of our guidelines. As the Maine Trust’s digital team reviews these comments, we ask for patience.
Comments are managed by our staff during regular business hours Monday through Friday and limited hours on Saturday and Sunday. Comments held for moderation outside of those hours may take longer to approve.
