Politics is like a football game, “it ain’t over ’til it’s over,” (Yogi Berra). An unusual strategic game plan is always needed to defeat a formidable opponent, and the Democrats have done it. They will win because of the unexpected maneuvers of the players.

The game is close and the quarterback is lagging behind because of his age and energy. The coach says, “Bring in the young arm” and the new quarterback throws a Hail Mary to win the game. The opposition is caught off guard because they are over-confident.

Joe Biden planned on one term as president; he knows his own limitations, as we all do as we age. He stayed the route with strength and stamina, and pursued playing in the game as long as he could, to bait and lure the opposition into their over-confident, self-absorbed position, Joe knows their weakness. So Joe hangs on; and then enters the “debate” and throws the show for all to see, so he could call on his young prepared backup quarterback waiting on the sideline to finish the game with vigor, enthusiasm, joy and chutzpah. Touchdown!

You had great strategy, Joe, because of your knowledge from years of service in the Senate. I thank you for your sagacity and acumen. Enjoy, sit on the beach and throw frisbee with your dog Commander. Peace be with you.
