ST. ALBANS — Rick Lancaster and Roberta Braley have been named SKILLS Inc.’s 2024 Direct Support Professionals of the Year.
The announcement of Lancaster and Braley as DSPs of the Year came as SKILLS recognizes Direct Support Professional Appreciation Week, Sept. 8-14.

Direct support professionals work with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, assisting them with daily living and helping them engage in the community as they grow in independence and reach their full potential.
Lancaster has been a DSP in SKILLS Community Support Programs for 10 years. He is known for his patience, positive attitude, calm demeanor no matter the situation, and for going above and beyond in his care.
Braley has been with SKILLS for 17 years. She is recognized for her kindness, commitment to getting to know every individual she works with, and taking the time to build genuine relationships.
