MANCHESTER — Members of the Manchester Conservation Commission are set to lead a pubic walk through the newly expanded Manchester Woods town trail system at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28.
It is a non-motorized recreational trail system for walking/hiking, mountain biking, trail running, wildlife viewing, snowshoeing/XC-skiing and similar activities. The loop is adjacent to the Hallowell Recreational Area.
The town forest consists of several sections including the Kerns Hill Connector, the “Pipeline” utility right-of-way, and “Rocks and Crafts” parts one and two.
Attendees should meet at the Kerns Hill parking area, 325 Kerns Hill Road. While the entire loop is approximately four miles, there also is a shorter optional walk.
For more information, call the Manchester Town Office at 207-622-1894.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
