Madelyn D. Piper

FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. – Madelyn D. Piper, 91, succumbed to advanced Alzheimer’s on Monday, Sept. 16, 2024 at the River Ridge Nursing Home in Kennebunkport.

She was born in Augusta on April 25, 1933 a daughter of the late Arthur F. and Lilly N. (Michaud) Daniels.

Mrs. Piper attended Augusta schools and was a homemaker for most of her life. She was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Augusta for many years.

Mrs. Piper was predeceased by her husband, Ormand S. Piper; her daughter, Marsha K. Piper; and two brothers, Norman and Bertrand Daniels.

She is survived by three sons, Loren D. Piper of Baldwinville, Mass., O. Mitchell Piper of Kennebunkport and Nathan L. Piper of Barre, Vt.; four grandchildren, Daniel, Jonathan, Alexandria and Andre; as well as several nieces, nephews; and cousins.

Relatives and friends may visit on Monday, Sept. 23, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Western Ave., Augusta. Burial and committal prayers will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Manchester.
