Calvin S. Sizelove

AUGUSTA – Calvin S. Sizelove died on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2024 due to complications of dementia.

Born in Muncie, Ind. on Jan. 17, 1940, the son of John Spencer and Crystal Belle (Jackson) Sizelove, Cal graduated from Muncie Central High School, Muncie, Ind. in 1958.

He served in the Navy, worked at Westinghouse in Muncie, Ind., General Electric in Somersworth, N.H., and at Joy Mfg. in Colorado Springs, Colo. before retiring from Maine Revenue Service in 2003.

Cal is a member of the Unitarian Universalist Community Church of Augusta.

Cal was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Annetta, three brothers, Earl, Carl and Roland; and infant daughter, Martha Jo.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jean of Augusta; two daughters, Brenda J. Sizelove and companion Richard Webb of Gardiner and Naomi R. Konesky of Oakland; three granddaughters, Morgan A. Johnson of Minot, N.D., Alisha M. Spear of Auburn and Melissa J. Dalton of Auburn; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers Paul and wife Diane of LaOtto, Ind., David and wife Millie of Fuquay Varina, N.C., sisters Elisabeth Brunson of Anderson, Ind., and Deborah Sizelove of Indianapolis, Ind.; and several cousins; nieces, nephews; and 10 great-grandchildren.

According to Cal’s wishes, there will be no public viewing or service. A gathering of remembrance will be scheduled later.

Cal requests that, in lieu of flowers or other memorial gifts, you visit someone that loves you – in person – and give them flowers or a gift if you wish; but know that they will treasure your presence more than presents.
