Jennie Dawe
FARMINGDALE – Jennie Dawe went home to be with Jesus on the morning of Sept. 19, 2024, after a period of on and off illness.
Jennie Sperry was born on June 9, 1957 in New Haven, Conn. and was raised on a farm in Lebanon, Conn. by her aunt and uncle, Joyce and Arthur Stebner. In June of 1985, she met Daniel W. Dawe at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Lebanon, Conn. They were married at the church on April 9, 1988.
Jennie then moved to Daniel’s residence in Westfield, Mass. where they lived for three years. Together, they moved to Gardiner in 1991. Jennie had conflicts with both mental and physical health issues, but through it all showed a strong love for her husband and many others. She displayed a very strong Christian commitment, which kept showing itself in desiring to be a good witness for Jesus. Jennie was a devout Lutheran Christian throughout her life, with her current membership at Emmanuel Lutheran Episcopal Church in Augusta.
Jennie had a very beautiful smile which could brighten someone’s day.
Due to declining health, Jennie was placed into assisted living for the last four years, with the last two years at Captain Lewis Residence in Farmingdale. Captain Lewis is to be commended for the loving and diligent care extended to Jennie.
Jennie is survived by her husband of 36 years, Daniel W. Dawe; and her sister, Nancy McLean of Southbury, Conn.
