As a resident in House District 61 (Vassalboro and Sidney), I am happy to support Laura Jones, the candidate who best shares my values. Laura will be a champion on issues that are important to me: a woman’s right to make her own choices, affordable health care, a clean environment and transparency in a government actions.
Laura is a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel and a fourth-generation Vassalboro native. Since retirement, she has volunteered her time to help the community organize and promote its businesses, organizations and people. Connecting residents with information that will help them make informed decisions in all aspects of live is important to her and will serve us well in Augusta.
She will make a great representative and I hope you will join me in supporting Laura Jones for House District 61.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
For those stories that we do enable discussion, our system may hold up comments pending the approval of a moderator for several reasons, including possible violation of our guidelines. As the Maine Trust’s digital team reviews these comments, we ask for patience.
Comments are managed by our staff during regular business hours Monday through Friday and limited hours on Saturday and Sunday. Comments held for moderation outside of those hours may take longer to approve.
