When Sally Cluchey joined Bowdoinham Community School’s parent partnership eight years ago, she noticed that the yearly string of small fundraisers and bake sales was exhausting parents to near burnout. She found a solution: she transformed our town’s annual Chicken Run into the year’s one-and-done fundraiser.
It took work. Sally secured sponsors, recruited volunteers, lined up prizes, and attracted new runners. Since she took over, the race has brought nearly $50,000 to support popular author visits, field trips, classroom materials, outdoor classroom gear, and more.
Sally brings this same approach — seeking smart, efficient solutions — to her work at the State House. She’s driven to improve the lives of her constituents, just as she helped busy parents like me by streamlining fundraising efforts into one joyful community race.
Rep. Sally Cluchey is the type of leader we need in Augusta. She’s earned my vote, and I hope she’ll earn yours.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
For those stories that we do enable discussion, our system may hold up comments pending the approval of a moderator for several reasons, including possible violation of our guidelines. As the Maine Trust’s digital team reviews these comments, we ask for patience.
Comments are managed by our staff during regular business hours Monday through Friday and limited hours on Saturday and Sunday. Comments held for moderation outside of those hours may take longer to approve.
