Keaghan Mckenna
AUGUSTA – “How we Doin’???” A common welcoming heard from the family’s best angler, and World Champion of “Falling asleep in the Hunting Blind”.
Keaghan Mckenna, born August 31, 2007…and passed unexpectedly on Sept. 17, 2024…was most known for his passion and commitment to those he loved and cared for the most. He moved thru his life with confidence but also consideration, remembered often for putting others before himself, because to Keaghan, it’s what felt right.
His favored past times included walking shorelines with a pole in hand, trudging the deep woods of Maine with family and friends in search of the next prized Back Strap, and Hiking some of the tallest mountains in New England, all while wearing The Notorious Green Beanie.
He held equal passions ranging from music and arts to two wheels, and two strokes. Chances are in recent times, if it ran straight from the headers and ate tires by the set, you’d find Keaghan near it. And he never missed a Sunday at the Augusta Civic Center with his friends in the 207 Street Bike L!fe Club
Some of those closest to him had the opportunity to see his quietly creative side as well, like when he once made a fish shaped Cribbage Board for his grandfather. He also showed himself to be a skilled chess player at such a young age with his Independent Studies Instructor, while also preparing for what would be his final course to receive his G.E.D. He was working hard every day at achieving his goals he’d set, and he refused to ever give up.
Some of his most recent pursuits in life involved anything requiring an engine and mechanical skills. At 17 years old, he was already rebuilding and, in some cases, customizing bikes and trucks with his dad. He was the proudest tho of The Black Ford and his custom Minibike. Keaghan would also mention here, “watch where you place your feet when removing a small engine”….and he loved manifesting the same drive for customizing and building in others. Whether it be when he gifted his prized and first-ever, self-built Mud Mower, right down to helping someone else unexpectedly find the project bike they’d always been looking for.
He is survived by Dee (Mother), Damian (Father/Best Friend), his well-known puppers Howie, Justin (Dad), Brittany (Mom), Michael (Dad), and Jill (Mom); his siblings, Dannica, Andrew, Landon, Athena, Amelia, and Abby; his grandparents, Jeff, Carol, Matt, and Darlene. And then his “Framily”; Steph, Ryan, Margie, Keith, Keiran, Brian, Justin, Heavy, Kory, and so many more…..
He was predeceased by his brother Shawn, his brother Hayden, and his grandparents Patricia, Donald, Kimberly, Julie, Henry and Janelle.
The World lost an amazing young man…an Old Soul born into the life of a Youth…Keaghan would want those he cared for to keep going…keep moving…keep pushing and pursuing…
And Keaghan’s family wanted to say, with a loving gesture in hand, remember to look twice out there…and hold your loved ones tight.
In Loving Memory…Till We Meet Again
