Education is the cornerstone of our future and I believe that Marcus Emerson is the candidate who will ensure that our schools get the support that they need. His commitment to improving education in Augusta is evident in his door-to-door conversations which call for better schools to provide students and parents with the necessary tools for success.
Marcus understands that great schools are essential for the growth and development of our children and Augusta. He understands that the 21st-century student may need different things as students begin to rethink the high cost of a four-year college education. Trade and vocational schools, remote options, and internships can and should be exercised to the fullest.
I am truly confident that Marcus Emerson will work tirelessly to improve education in Augusta. Please consider voting for him Nov. 5.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
For those stories that we do enable discussion, our system may hold up comments pending the approval of a moderator for several reasons, including possible violation of our guidelines. As the Maine Trust’s digital team reviews these comments, we ask for patience.
Comments are managed by our staff during regular business hours Monday through Friday and limited hours on Saturday and Sunday. Comments held for moderation outside of those hours may take longer to approve.
