Dora Glidden
LITCHFIELD – Dora Glidden, 85, of Litchfield, passed away peacefully at home on Oct. 5, 2024, with her family by her side.
Dora was born on Sept. 28, 1939, in Grundy, Va., to Flornia Charles and Thomas Owens.
Dora spent most of her life as a homemaker and babysitter. In her younger years she waitressed, worked in a clothing store, and Health Tex in Gardiner, Maine. She was a faithful attendee of the Church of the Nazarene, in Gardiner.
She loved visiting the coast of Maine and various lighthouses, afternoon drives with her husband Vern, apple picking, quilting, family time, and reading her Bible. Her favorite times were trips to Virginia to visit with her family where she grew up, and spending time with her little boy Wyatt.
Dora was predeceased by her husband Vernal E. Glidden Jr., her mom Flornia Charles, her father Swanson Charles, her sisters Pansy Chambers, Judy Charles, and her brother George Charles.
She is survived by her son Darrell Glidden, her daughter Sherry Boochko and Sherry’s children Shannon Hanson, Daniel Boochko, her daughter Roxy Tuttle, Roxy’s husband Henry, and their two daughters, Cierra, and Haley Perron and her husband Connor Perron, her great-grandson Wyatt Caston, her two sisters Phoebe Fuller and husband Jeff, and Sue Walford and husband Ray and their families.
There will be a celebration of Dora’s life and her love for Jesus at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2024, at the Church of the Nazarene, 6 Nazarene Way, Gardiner, ME 04345.
Arrangements are under the care of Kincer Funeral Home, 130 Pleasant St., Richmond, ME 04357.
