WINTHROP — The Bailey Public Library plans to host a meet the candidates event for Winthrop Town Council whose names will be on the Nov. 5 ballot.

All five candidates plan to participate in the event, set for 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, in the King Event Room of the Bailey Public Library, 26 Bowdoin St.

The forum will give Winthrop residents an opportunity to learn about the candidates vying for three open council seats: Bruce Burns, Linda Caprara, Christopher Lavigne, Zachary Steele and Andy Wess.

Library Director Richard Fortin will moderate the event, wherein each candidate will have an opportunity to make an opening statement, followed by a discussion of town issues, a period for public question and answer, and closing statements.

Attendees wishing to pose a question to the candidates may do so by submitting their question in writing at the event.
