Jean C. Demers
HAMPDEN – Jean C. Demers of Hampden, was born on Feb. 22, 1942, in Valleyfield, Quebec, Canada, the son of Joseph P. and Diane Pratte Demers. He started school in Canada and moved, with his parents, to Madison, in 1950. He started school in Madison, where he learned to speak English and graduated from Madison High School in 1960. He married Corilee “Jo” Bragg on Nov. 17, 1963, and they were blessed with two sons Jeffrey Jean and Jay Joseph. Jean worked for Madison Paper as Sales and Customer Service Manager until he retired because of illness. He travelled extensively while he worked there, spending a lot of time in New York. Jean enjoyed cooking and created some awesome recipes. He also loved gardening. He and Jo enjoyed their homes and had several built over the years. He was a member of Lakewood Golf Course for many years and Natanis, in Vassalboro while they lived at their condo at Arrowhead. Jo and Jean seasonally traveled to Florida and lived there for 10 years. He especially loved walks on the beach.
Jean was predeceased by his parents, his brother and best friend, Raymond G. Demers; his beloved daughter-in-law Holly Jeanne Hayden Demers; Jo’s three brothers Art, John, Sam and sister Mary-Ellen.
He is survived by his wife Jo, his sons Jeffrey J. Demers (Tammy), Jay J. Demers (Sandra), four grandchildren Zackrey, Jeoffre, Ian and Alex, six great-grandchildren, Jo’s 13 brothers and sisters, their spouses, several nieces, nephews, cousins and his beloved Golden Retriever Zoe.
At Jean’s request there will be no funeral or any type of services.
