Matt Townsend is right for Maine but most importantly right for Fairfield and Benton.
In 2011 Dr. Townsend choose to open a veterinary practice in Fairfield. Over the years he has saved the lives of my pets and recently provided end-of-life care for my 14-year-old dog Koda. In each situation, Dr. Townsend has acted with professionalism, compassion and most importantly he helped me make the best decisions for my pets.
It’s time Fairfield and Benton elected a representative who acts with professionalism, who listens compassionately, and makes decisions that are in the best interest of our community. As a business owner, town councilor, community volunteer, and soon-to-be grandfather, Matt has proven time and time again he can be trusted to make informed and well-reasoned decisions.
This lifelong Republican urges my fellow Fairfield and Benton community members to vote for Matthew Townsend for House District 67.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
For those stories that we do enable discussion, our system may hold up comments pending the approval of a moderator for several reasons, including possible violation of our guidelines. As the Maine Trust’s digital team reviews these comments, we ask for patience.
Comments are managed by our staff during regular business hours Monday through Friday and limited hours on Saturday and Sunday. Comments held for moderation outside of those hours may take longer to approve.
