Distressing and disgusting … those are the adjectives that describe how I feel about current politics and the way people are acting in this country since the Republican Party became the “Trump Party.”
Perhaps there has always been this anger and hatred boiling beneath the surface, but it seems that it took an obviously sick TV “celebrity” to make such terrible failures of human nature acceptable to a lot of people. Seeing signs in people’s yard that don’t just show support for a candidate is not enough for some people. They show not-so-clever obscene phrases and dog silhouettes that would be a community’s embarrassment in other times.
I have been a registered member of the Republican Party since 1980. I cannot support any of those who are running for public office under the banner of that party who affiliate themselves with the Trump cult.
